Cambodian and Indonesian PM Exchange Niceties at ASEAN Summit

JAKARTA: While on his trip to attend the 43rd ASEAN Summit, Prime Minister Hun Manet met with his Indonesian counterpart to celebrate their countries’ close relationship and commit to further cooperation in areas like economy, human resource training, and the fight against terrorism.

On September 4, Indonesian President Joko Widodo welcomed the Cambodian prime minister and congratulated him on his recent promotion as Cambodia’s leader. He also sent a heartfelt greeting to the PM’s father, former Prime Minister Hun Sen, whom he considers a close friend.

 The two leaders then agreed to continue to strengthen and expand their cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, human resource training and the fight against terrorism and cross-border crimes. Prime Minister Hun Manet thanked the Indonesian PM for his kind words and the warm hospitality that Indonesia has displayed as host of the 43rd ASEAN Summit.
